Tiger Woods, step on the field in 7 months… Genesis Invitational

Tiger Woods will return to the PGA tour next week at the Genesis Invitational after 7 months.

Woods posted a post on his Twitter on the 11th (Korean time) and said, “I’m ready to participate in the PGA Tour event next week.” Then he added the Genesis Invitational Twitter account.

Woods, who severely injured his leg in a major car accident in February 2021, has only competed in some competitions since.

In December of that year, he joined his son Charlie at the PNC Championship, an event where his family participates, and then last year, he participated in three major tournaments: the Masters in April, the PGA Championship in May, and the Open in July. 메이저사이트

Woods placed 47th in the Masters and withdrew after three rounds at the PGA Championship after complaining of leg pain from day one. He missed the cut in The Open.

He was scheduled to participate in the Hero World Challenge hosted by his foundation in early December of last year, but withdrew his plan due to pain in the sole of his right foot.

At a press conference at the time of the Hero World Challenge, Woods said, “In 2023, my goal is to participate in one or two more tournaments besides major tournaments.” As Woods declared his first tournament appearance of the year, expectations for his participation in the Masters, the first major tournament of the season in April, also increased.

The Genesis Invitational, which drew more attention due to Woods’ comeback, will be held at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California, USA from the 16th. This tournament is one of the ‘special events’ designated by the PGA Tour.
