Lotte defeats Samsung for its third straight win.
Lotte won 7-3 in an away game at Samsung Lions Park in Daegu on Sunday. Starter Park Se-woong picked up his seventh win of the season, while Ahn Chi-hong hit his first home run in 387 days since resigning from Samsung on Aug. 25 last year.
Lotte’s batting order was center fielder Hwang Sung-bin, designated hitter Lee Jung-hoon, first baseman Ahn Chi-hong, left fielder Jeon Jun-woo, right fielder Yoon Dong-hee, second baseman Park Seung-wook, catcher Lee Jung-geun, shortstop Noh Jin-hyuk and third baseman Lee Hak-joo. The starting pitcher is “Glasses Ace” Park Se-woong.
Samsung’s starting lineup is center fielder Kim Hyun-jun, right fielder Kim Sung-yoon, left fielder Koo Ja-uk, catcher Kang Min-ho, designated hitter Jose Pirela, third baseman Ryu Ji-hyuk, shortstop Lee Jae-hyun, second baseman Kim Ji-chan, and first baseman Kim Ho-jae. Foreign pitcher Taylor Widener took the mound.
It was Lotte who struck first. In the top of the first inning, Lee Jung-hoon drew a walk and Ahn Chi-hong singled up the middle to put runners on first and third. At the plate was Jeon Jun-woo. Against Samsung starter Taylor Widener, he lined a single through the shortstop’s side to open the scoring. With runners on first and second, Yoon Dong-hee singled to shortstop, but no more runs were scored.
Lotte got on the board in the third inning when leadoff hitter Hwang Sung-bin pulled off a surprise bunt. Lee Jung-hoon grounded out to first base and the lead runner reached second. With runners on first and second, Ahn Chi-hong hit a two-run arch to left-center off Widener. 3-0.
In the fourth inning, LOTTE put runners on first and third with singles by Information Geun and Lee Hak-joo. A wild pitch by Widener scored one more run. Hwang Sung-bin flied out to left field, but Lee Jung-hoon singled. The Samsung bench sent Choi Ji-kwang to the mound in place of Widner. Ahn Chi-hong ripped a three-run arch to left field against the changed pitcher. 7-0.
Samsung fought back, and two batters later in the fourth inning, trailing 7-0, Jose Pirela hit a two-run arch to left-center off Lotte starter Park Se-woong. With the bases loaded in the seventh inning, Lee Jae-hyun hit a solo shot to right off Lotte’s second pitcher, Jin Seung-hyun.메이저놀이터
Lotte starter Park Se-woong earned his seventh win of the season with six innings, five hits (one homer), one walk, four strikeouts and two runs. Ahn Chi-hong led the offense with three hits and five RBIs, including a home run in consecutive at-bats.
Samsung starter Taylor Widener, on the other hand, had been strong against Lotte, going 2-0 with a 2.45 ERA before this game. Given her head-to-head advantage, she was favored to win this game, but the outcome was unexpected. She gave up six runs on six hits (one home run) in 3⅔ innings with four walks and six strikeouts.
