Reporter Lee Eui-jin = Coach Park Hang-seo (66), who has been with the Vietnamese national soccer team for about five years, expressed his intention to continue his leadership career, saying, “I have the stamina to work in the field for two or three more years.”
After returning to Korea through Incheon International Airport on the afternoon of the 14th, director Park met with reporters and said, “I have no intention of acting as a director on set in Korea or Vietnam.” I have an idea to (accept) depending on whether or not it is,” he said.
Director Park plans to stay in Korea for a while to digest the broadcasting schedule, and then depart for Vietnam again on the 16th.
In a non-face-to-face interview with domestic media on the 17th of last month, he said that he would also consider joining the Vietnamese youth soccer field later.
In this regard, coach Park explained, “Many provinces are talking about doing it (together). However, it is not easy for Koreans to take the lead in (youth soccer business) in Vietnam.” did.
In addition, coach Park emphasized that the ‘belief’ that it was not desirable for the Korea Football Association to pick Michael Müller (58) as the head of the National Team Power Reinforcement Committee was still there.
At an interview last month, coach Park pointed out about the appointment of Chairman Muller, “I wonder how much he knows the capabilities of domestic leaders. I wonder if it will be possible to accurately evaluate (about domestic leaders) by looking at documents and data.”
On this day, when asked if he had any opinions on the process of appointing a new national team coach, he said, “I don’t know the atmosphere because I’m away from Korean soccer,” but said, “I have a belief about the technical chairman. I think that a person from my country should do it.”
The following is a Q&A with Director Park.
— How do you feel about entering Korea?
▲ Five years and four months have passed since I started coaching Vietnam. I didn’t know that so many reporters would come to the scene of his return. I am always grateful for your interest. So far, I feel responsible and I think I did a good job. Thank you for the interest of the Korean people, soccer fans, and media. Encouragement and interest became a great driving force for me.
— Please convey your gratitude to the people of Vietnam as well.
▲ I received a lot of love, support, and encouragement over the past five years. Without that, it would not have been an easy leadership life. Thank you for supporting me in every difficult time.
— In the last interview, you said that you would continue your relationship with Vietnam in some way.
▲ I think it is desirable to maintain any relationship. However, in Vietnam, I have no intention of carrying out any more directorial duties. What remains is youth football. That part is still in progress. Several provinces talk about doing (business).
However, it is not easy for Koreans to lead (business) in Vietnam. There are many proposals, but nothing has progressed beyond that. (In Vietnam) It is not easy for Koreans to proceed through investment. Anyway, I am trying to establish a link with (Vietnamese) youth football.
— Do you intend to continue your coaching career?
▲ I left the national team coaching job in Vietnam and finished well, but I don’t think it’s right to (coach) again. In Korea, my juniors are doing very well. I have no intention of playing the role as a field supervisor in Korea and Vietnam at present.
However, if an offer comes as a director, not in Korea or Vietnam, I have thoughts depending on the country and the position. Physically, I think I can do 2 or 3 more years in the field. I also got an agreement from my family that I could do it for another 2 or 3 years.
– This is the first time I have used a free lifetime ticket for Korea-Vietnam routes provided by Vietnam Airlines, the national airline. How do you feel?
▲ Thank you. When I got it, I thought it was a one-year ticket. After that, the manager said that the period is for a lifetime. I think it means to have a link with the Vietnamese government.
— At the 2022 ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Mitsubishi Electric Cup (Mitsubishi Cup), there was a war of nerves with Indonesia’s coach Shin Tae-yong.
▲ There is no resentment in relationships with juniors. It can be nerve-wracking before an important match. Of course, neither I nor Director Shin need to belittle (the other person) during the interview. I think we should take care of each other. When the game is over, what comes back is the human relationship. doesn’t make any sense
As the FIFA U-20 World Cup, the most important tournament in May, will be held in Indonesia, it is hoped that the new coach will show his presence. He is a competent manager, so he will get good results.
— At the last conference, you brought out your convictions regarding the coach of the Korean national team.
▲ He was scolded by his son for saying something useless that day. I don’t know the atmosphere because I’m away from Korean soccer. I still can’t figure out the situation. Now I am not a Vietnamese coach, but an ordinary Korean soccer player.
However, it is my conviction, and it is my opinion that it is right for a native to do the technical committee (national team power reinforcement committee). I can’t say anything because I don’t have the authority to appoint people, but I don’t think it’s desirable in relation to the technical committee right now.
— There are Vietnamese players who have advanced to the K-League.
▲ Vietnam is very conservative when it comes to player transfers. It’s not easy because the club doesn’t think positively like we do. He continued to point out through the media that he needed to change his mind.
In fact, Vietnamese players also tend to be afraid to go to Korea. (Nguyen) Kong Phuong experienced (the K-League) and talked a lot about how it was difficult in terms of physical strength and fighting. 카지노
I hope Vietnamese clubs have an open mind to advance overseas. When the opportunity arises, I plan to talk through the media so that Vietnamese players can go to a better league.
— What is the most memorable moment?
▲ Played 98 matches for the under-23 national team and the adult national team. I feel like I could have filled 100 games with just two more games.
The most memorable moment was when I finished runner-up at the AFC U-23 Championship held in China shortly after I took office. At the time, the system was not fully equipped. It was a result obtained in a different environment from Vietnam, such as the cold.
— Will you stay in Korea in the future?
▲ Nothing has been decided in the future. The country to stay and the length of stay will be determined according to the position and importance of the person to take on in the future. This, too, will change if another proposal comes from the three countries.
— If offered a managerial position in China or other Southeast Asian countries, are you willing to accept it?
▲ I think I can do it physically for 2 or 3 years. If the opportunity comes, I have an idea to do it one more time after considering the place called, position, and conditions.
