The Los Angeles Clippers are trying to clear traffic.
ESPN’s Jack Lowe reported on the Clippers on Monday (Nov. 18).
“I can guarantee one trade,” Lowe said, “two of Marcus Morris, Nicola Batum, Robert Covington, and Norman Powell in a package.”
It was an essential trade for the Clippers. They already had the one-two punch of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George on the wing, but adding Morris, Batum, and Powell to the mix was too much. In modern basketball, the more offensive wing options you have, the better, but the Clippers were saturated.
In contrast, their weaknesses at the big man position and at the ball-handler position stood out. Talk about positional imbalance.
While there have been no specific counteroffers discussed yet, it’s likely that Morris, Batum, Powell, Covington, and other veteran wing talent will be moved.메이저사이트
The Clippers, meanwhile, finished last season with a 44-38 record and a fifth-place finish in the West before falling in the playoffs to the Phoenix Suns in the first round, 1-4. They were mediocre in both areas, finishing 16th in offensive rating and 17th in defensive rating. This offseason, they’re hoping to break out of the middle of the pack.
