Cesar, the women’s national team coach, visits Korea on February 13th… Scheduled V-League visit and press conference

Reporter Lee Jae-sang = Cesar Hernandez (46, Spain), the Korean women’s volleyball team coach, will visit Korea next month to see the V-League for the first time and hold a press conference with the media.

According to the Korea Volleyball Association on the 27th, coach Cesar, who currently coaches the Turkish women’s professional volleyball Vakifbank, is planning to visit Korea and observe the V-League in person after seeking understanding from his team in mid-February. On the 13th of next month, he will visit Korea for 2 nights and 3 days, watch the Hyundai E&C-Korea Expressway Corporation exhibition held in Suwon on the 14th, and hold a press conference.

At the end of October 2021, this is the first time that Cesar, who succeeded coach Stefano Lavarini (Italy) as the head coach of the women’s volleyball team, is watching the V-League with his own eyes. I visited the KOVO Cup last year, but I had never seen a V-League game on site due to the Vakifbank schedule in Turkey.

Coach Cesar is also planning a place to directly talk about misunderstandings in the process of selecting players that surfaced last year. In the women’s volleyball team, multiple players dropped out due to injuries after the player was selected, and because of this, the V-League commanders are distrusting coach Cesar and the national team’s coaching staff.

After finishing the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) and World Championships last year, coach Cesar left for Europe without an interview and received a lot of criticism.

‘Cesarho’ suffered the humiliation of its first 12-game losing streak (0 points) in the VNL held in 2022 and stayed at the bottom of 16 teams. After defeating Croatia 3-1 in the World Championship, they narrowly escaped defeat, but were eliminated in the group stage after a sluggish record of 1 win and 4 losses.

In particular, despite quenching in Jincheon for more than a month, they were disappointed by recording a shutout loss to Thailand after a lethargic game.

Cesar has been recording a disastrous record of 1 win and 16 losses in international competitions since his arrival. 안전놀이터

Coach Cesar, who will enter the country in February, is expected to watch the V-League matches and check the physical condition of the players. Next, he plans to reveal the blueprint for the major international competitions scheduled for this year.

Coach Cesar recently held a non-face-to-face meeting with the association’s new performance improvement chairman Kim Cheol-yong and coordinated plans for future national team operation.

The women’s volleyball team is ahead of important competitions this year, such as the VNL, the Asian Championships, the 2024 Paris Olympic World Qualifiers, and the Hangzhou Asian Games.
